Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the MyBarAI mobile application and this website. MyBarAI is operated from Georgia and is available to users internationally. Depending on where you live, you may have additional mandatory privacy rights under local law; nothing in this policy limits those rights.

MyBarAI is an informational cocktail recipe and bar-planning product. It does not sell, deliver, or arrange the purchase of alcohol.

2. You can use MyBarAI as a guest

Registration is optional. You can use the app as a guest without creating an account and without providing an email address.

Signing in alone does not upload your local workspace. Backing up or syncing is a separate, explicit action you choose to take.

3. Data stored on your device

Unless you deliberately use a connected feature, the following stays on your device:

• Your My Bar inventory and shopping list
• Favorites and tried / disliked / want-to-try states
• Taste preferences, notes and custom recipes
• Tasting journal entries and device-local photos
• Your language choice and app settings

Device-local tasting journal photos are not uploaded by the current Sync path.

4. Optional account data

If you choose to create an account, we may process:

• Your email address
• A display name, if you provide one
• Your authentication provider identity (for example, a sign-in with a store or identity provider)
• An opaque user identifier used to associate your private records with your account

5. Explicit backup and sync

When you choose "Back up this device" or "Sync now", MyBarAI may transmit:

• My Bar inventory and shopping / list state
• Taste evidence and preferences
• Notes and custom recipes
• An optional normalized private recipe photo

This data is stored for owner-only backup and cross-device restore. It is not published, shared with other users, or used for advertising.

6. Optional connected features

If you use optional connected features, MyBarAI may process cocktail ratings, AI search and generation prompts and their results, safety reports you submit, and limited security, quota and operation metadata needed to run and protect the service.

7. Visual assistance (shelf, bottle and menu scanning)

When you explicitly choose visual assistance, the image you select — a shelf, bottle or menu photo — is sent securely for transient remote inference so the app can recognise what it shows.

MyBarAI does not intentionally persist those scan image bytes in its application database or storage.

8. Device permissions

• Camera and photo access occurs only after you take an explicit visual-assistant or photo action.
• Microphone / speech access occurs only after an explicit Make Mode voice action.
• The current audited release requests no location access, no contacts access and no notification permission.

You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; features that depend on it will simply stop being available.

9. Service providers

• Supabase — optional authentication, private database and storage, catalog and protected backend services.
• OpenAI — processing of AI requests you explicitly make.
• Google and Apple — app store distribution and identity services, under their own terms and privacy policies.

10. No advertising or tracking

The current audited release contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no cross-app tracking. MyBarAI does not sell personal data.

This website contains no analytics, no cookies for tracking, and no advertising technology.

11. Why data is processed

• Providing core app functionality
• Authentication, when you choose to sign in
• Private backup and restore across your own devices
• Personalising recipe suggestions to your bar and tastes
• Producing the AI output you requested
• Service security, abuse prevention and quota enforcement
• Support, and compliance with legal obligations

12. Security

Information is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, and owner-scoped access controls are used for private cloud data so that your records are reachable only through your own account.

No service can promise absolute security. Please use a strong, unique sign-in method and keep your device secure.

13. Your choices

• Remain a guest and never create an account
• Decline backup and sync, and keep everything on your device
• Avoid AI and visual-assistant features entirely
• Revoke camera, photo or microphone permissions at any time
• Export your data from within the app
• Erase local data on a device, or uninstall the app
• Delete your account and account-linked data

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, port, restrict or object to processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Write to us and we will handle the request in line with applicable law.

14. Retention

Local data remains on your device until you remove it, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app. Deleting a cloud account cannot remotely clear a device that is offline or no longer in use.

Account-linked cloud data is kept while it is needed to provide the service you selected, and is deleted or de-identified after a valid deletion request, subject only to limited security, legal, backup and operational retention.

15. Age

MyBarAI is intended for adults aged 18 or older who also meet the legal drinking age where they live. It is not directed to children.

16. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and, where appropriate, the app will surface a notice.
